The revitalisation of this iconic Gold Coast beach front has made future assets more valuable given the international profile of the foreshore.
Place Design Group was tasked with creating landscape designs, enhancing streetscapes, and obtaining operational approvals. Their efforts focused on improving beachfront access and enhancing the beauty of the foreshore landscape.
These endeavours notably increased the capacity of the foreshore area in a bustling urban beach destination. Moreover, they bolstered safety measures by integrating design principles aimed at preventing environmental crimes (CPTED).
The Place Design Group closely collaborated with City of Gold Coast officials and the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM).
The extremely corrosive environment demanded a high performance LED solution considering maintenance, energy saving, corrosive resistance and decorative aesthetics. We liaised with Tony Dowthwaite Lighting Design and the contractor to develop a unique solution complementing the world-famous Surfers Paradise beach and breathtaking skyline.
